Our tours include comfortable transport, all breakfasts / dinners, awesome activities, and hostel style accommodation. When you book with us we also provide help with all transport before and after the tour with no extra admin fees.

On the tour you will see and experience a whole different side of New Zealand and yourself. Information for Parents

We are parents too and know how important your child’s safety is! While your child is on tour we continually consider the risks so you can rest assured they are in the best possible care while they learn and grow.

How do we achieve this?

After your child has made a booking with Active Planet they will be sent an email information pack, including a comprehensive activities form that will require your parental approval. This ensures you are informed and consented to your child’s selected activities.

All locations and activity providers we engage with are of the highest standard with accredited experience and safety procedures.

Accommodation providers used by Active Planet are also accredited, hygienic and clean sites that cater to providing a safe sleeping environment.

For your child, transport to and from our tours are arranged and school approved by our professional travel team. This includes pick-up and drop off from transport terminals (eg, airport) to ensure your child is well cared for and safe at all times.

Healthy breakfasts and dinners are supplied from the start of the tour through to the end on the tour. We provide meal options for special diets such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten intolerance.

Our tour have unmatched value for money and for include adventure and discovery filled itineraries with inclusive activities.

Our Active Team are well trained and experienced in caring for teenagers and running tours, holding current first aid certificates and undergo police vetting checks.

Active Planet provide appropriate adult / student ratio, so your child will be well supervised.

Travel is in certified buses with skilled, licensed drivers.

 

Contact with your child on tour

It is common for the students to not email or text as often as usual during the tour, this is nothing to worry about. A lot of the areas we travel will be out of signal coverage or your child will be busy exploring and ‘hanging out’ with his / her new friends. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, our team will contact you and the school ASAP.

Remember, no news is good news.

Best of all you can be reassured your child is having the time of their lives, making new lifelong friends, improving their self confidence and creating memories that will stay with them forever.

After the tour they will receive a free tour video to share their story with you.

Booking an Active Planet tour

How do I pay for my trip?

Before your tour begins you will receive an invoice and can pay by.

NZ Westpac transfer details and SWIFT code to make your payment.
Credit card payments can be arranged via email.

How do I get to the start of the tour?

Our team will help make transport arrangements and communicate the best options for you. This insures you arrive to the right destination at the right time.

Where do we sleep?

On our tours we stay in Hostel and holiday dorm rooms with beds and bedding supplied. Camping can be arranged on request (group tours).

Is there Wi-fi or data access?

Most accommodations have access to free internet and Wi-fi (some charge a small fee). The hardest places to get signal is in Milford Sound and the Catlins. (South Island)

How much luggage can I bring on tour?

No need to carry too much around, pack smart for viable weather and always have a jacket handy.

Do I need insurance?

Active Planet deliver safe educational adventures with business public liability cover. Students must have their own personal comprehensive travel insurance.

I want to go somewhere the Active Planet tours do not go. Can Active Planet set one up?

Yes, we can set up a special tour for you. For school groups and student reunions, we often use the camping to bring down the cost.

Do I need Visa's for Australia, the Cook island and New Caledonia?

Yes, you may require Visa's. Check with our team to see what is required. We are able to sort it out for you!
